Bringing health, wholeness, and healing

Dear CPY Community:

Two years ago, I joined the CPY volunteer board as secretary. I have always believed that it takes about two years on a board to understand the workings and needs of an organization.  To me, what I have discovered in CPY can be described as blessed and special. I see wise, skilled, and prayerful volunteers giving amazing amounts of time and energy. I see conservative and careful fiscal planning. I see the desire to be faithful to Christ’s teaching. Two ways this shows itself practically is in the commitment to fair reimbursement for part time staff and in the desire to provide equal opportunities to folks who perhaps cannot afford CPY’s class or retreat offerings.

More importantly I see a mission and vision that can bring health and wholeness and healing.  We seem to be in a chaotic time in a chaotic culture.  As I reflect on God’s presence and intervention in history and in my own life, it seems that God often helps and saves us in hidden, unexpected, and quiet ways. God seems to use tiny building blocks that fit together and become cornerstones of healing and change, one individual at a time.  I believe that CPY is one such building block. With a respect for the deep roots of both yoga and Christianity, CPY offers experiences which nurture physical health and wholeness; unity of mind, body and spirit; contemplative listening and living; and a generous attitude of inclusion and oneness.

Although CPY is mostly volunteer run there are expenses including administrative incidentals such as website, zoom and google suite, hourly pay for one part time staff and scholarships for retreat participants who need assistance.  CPY’s 2024 programming includes: a thoughtfully planned array of online classes, a bi-annual teachers’ retreat, blog offerings, a website, a resource list and community directory. All of these inform and nurture readers on topics involving the intersection of yoga and Christianity.

We extend a huge thank you to those who have already donated or supported CPY in one way or another. For others, this is a gentle ask. Please  reflect on the work of CPY and how it has supported your spiritual and yoga journey and consider giving as you are able.

Yours in Christ,
