Create a Listing on the CPY Directory
Yoga teachers, yoga therapists, spiritual directors, studios, teacher trainers, and anyone willing to serve as a local or online resource can be found by other seekers through our community directory. We’ve added a list of things you should know before you sign up. Please note that all fields might not be applicable to all listings. Please feel free to skip questions that don’t make sense or apply to you.
WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN “EXPLICITLY CHRISTIAN” AND “CHRISTIAN SENSITIVE?”
Christians who practice yoga come in many forms. “Explicitly Christian” means, as a resource, you often teach using Christian scripture, symbols, prayers, or music. “Christian sensitive” means that though you are Christian, your teaching does not use Christian references. As a resource, you are available to help other Christians navigate yoga as a way to go to God, and can share your own Christian faith and stories if asked, but this is not explicit in your offering. These different styles reach different students. If you offer a mix of both forms, you may choose both.
WHAT DOES “SERVE AS A RESOURCE FOR” MEAN AND WHY DOES IT MATTER?
Christians Practicing Yoga has a large network of individuals who have spent years exploring the intersection of Christianity and yoga, who may not be actively teaching yoga or offering classes. This directory offers a means to connect these valuable resources to others who have questions about this intersection. People can connect to resources by visiting their website or social media, or by clicking the “connect” link, which forwards requests directly to an email address.
We ask that serious questions be offered considerate and timely answers. Should you receive any messages which are inappropriate or offensive, you have our permission to ignore them.
WHO IS AFFILIATED WITH CPY?
CPY affiliates have the purple tags listed under their names. The tags include attended retreat, board, community chair, founder, guest teacher, staff, and writer. “Attended retreat” means the person has attended at least one of our biennial CPY retreat. A “guest teacher” has offered a class or event with us. A “writer” is either a member of our blog community or they have written for us in the past. You can view these authors on the blog index page. A CPY affiliate has an appreciation for the mission and has worked to further it.
WHY ANNUAL DONATIONS? HOW DO I DONATE?
We use annual donations to pay for hourly staff and technology to support our work. We suggest an annual donation of $20 for teachers, $50 for studios, and $100 for teacher trainings for listings with a commercial interest, which we define as anyone who is requesting payment for their services. If your offering is free, your listing is free as well. Those unable to donate at this time or who do not charge for services should contact us at directory@christianspracticingyoga.com to request to have the fee waived. Donations are encouraged, but not required, to be listed here.

OUR GUIDELINES FOR AN INCLUSIVE COMMUNITY
Lived experiences and expressions of the Christian faith vary widely. The CPY community is inclusive of both doubt and certainty, and strives to focus on what unites rather than divides. Please consider this when creating your own profile. By listing yourself in this directory, you agree to comply with our Commitment to Inclusion. CPY does not verify credentials listed on profiles. We trust your profile will be an honest representation of you and your training.
Create your entry by clicking “Add Listing” at the top of the directory. Our staff will review your entry and send you an email when it's accepted.
Your profile may not be approved if:
Your account hosts multiple profiles that don’t represent you or your business
Your profile is not reflective of Christians Practicing Yoga's mission and vision or commitment to inclusion.
Your profile is not compliant with the community guidelines.
We have reason to believe your credentials are false.
We are awaiting your donation or an email requesting a waiver of the donation (Donations are not required for listing) Email directory@christianspracticingyoga.com for a waiver.
