One Path: A Journey of Love

Offered by Yogadevotion

Cindy Senarighi, founder Yogadevotion, LLC., has been a contributor, mentor and friend of CPY since her first retreat with Father Tom in 2005. Many of the teachers in this series are also volunteers with and contributors to the CPY mission. We are happy to be able to showcase her series classes along-side those developed by CPY.

In his award-winning essay, “The Cross and the Machine,” Paul Kingsnorth comes to the conclusion that had we actually followed Jesus’ teachings, specifically the famous Sermon on the Mount, we would be a people of love, regardless of religious affiliation. He realizes, “If we were to stumble toward the Creator with love and awe, then creation itself would not now be groaning under our weight. I saw that the teachings of Christ were the most radical in history, and that no empire could be built by those who truly lived them.”

During this Lenten season Yogadevotion invites you to meet on the mat and delve into Jesus’ radical teachings with the intention to learn how to love. The Pause, our donation-based practice takes place Wednesday evenings, 7 PM CST. Zoom will be the virtual meeting place as we journey together through the seven weeks of Lent. The physical practice will be available to everybody and will contain pranayama (breath), word, movement, ritual, contemplation, and rest. We’ll share our platform again this year with a variety of teachers, each exploring specific segments of The Sermon on the Plain, the Gospel of Luke’s version of the Sermon on the Mount. Luke’s version is written for a broader audience where Jesus meets the people on level ground instead of the mountaintop.
